Welcome to Year 6!

Year 6 is an incredibly memorable year for lots and lots of reasons – all of them good! Year 6 is mostly about preparing you for your new secondary school and getting you ‘future ready’. Working hard and developing a strong work ethic is very important in life – we have high expectations of you and encourage you to always do your best. Alongside this, we know that helping you to develop good resilience and perseverance when things are tricky, will help you achieve lots of success.

One of the most important parts of Year 6 is when you become a school leader. Everyone relies on our Y6 children to prefect and carry out important duties to help make our school a great place to be. It is superb seeing you contribute to our; School Council, Mini Vinnies, Eco-Committee, Happiness Heroes, Rota-Kids, Anti-Bullying Team, Reading Champions, Maths Leaders etc. Your ideas and organisation of events ensure that St Benet’s is an amazing school.

Of course, the most memorable part of Year 6 is getting your Reception buddy. A responsibility that will make you smile and laugh lots! Derwent Hill and our end of year production will also be top of the list too!

This year our Y6 motto is: RIGHT HERE. RIGHT NOW. Take action. Take care. Take responsibility.
