Nurturing Faith & Spirituality at St Benet’s

At St Benet’s, we value every child as a unique individual made in the image of God. Catholic life and values run through everything we do, helping us nurture not just academic learning, but each pupil’s spiritual and personal growth. We strive to foster this vision daily, creating rich experiences that nurture the wholeness of each child.

Religious Education is a core subject at St Benet’s and is based upon the Gospel values and the teachings of the Catholic Church. 

We aim to develop a growing faith and spiritual awareness in our children, and equip them with Christian values which will guide them through their lives.  Religious Education is taught through the process of Explore, Reveal, and Respond. This follows the pattern of: the human search for meaning, God’s initiative in Revelation and the response in faith.

We follow the ‘To Know You More Clearly’ Catholic Primary Religious Education programme.

Core Curriculum Structure

Six Half-Termly Branches: Every year group studies the same six core branches aligned with the Catholic liturgical year:

Creation and Covenant
Prophecy and Promise
Galilee to Jerusalem
Desert to Garden
To the Ends of the Earth (or Ends of the Earth)
Dialogue and Encounter
